Wayne Shifflett - Founder

Wayne Shifflett is a pioneer in the Internet marketing industry. From his work in the dot-com boom of the 90s, to his continued success in the ever-evolving fields of SEM and SEO, he is a proven e-business and marketing expert. His greatest satisfaction comes not just from the fruits of his own business successes, but from also helping other business owners benefit from his established methods and strategies.

Corporate America
Wayne entered the Internet marketing industry on the ground floor during the dot-com boom. Working for Fortune 500 companies such as TD Water House, Derivion, IBM/Rational Software, he was responsible for designing, developing, coding, and promoting websites.  

Because of his experience in the field, Wayne soon accepted an offer from AT&T Yellowpages.com to become a Senior Web Developer and Internet Marketing Professional. It was there that Wayne became renowned as an expert in providing personalized service to business owners, launching numerous successful Internet and print advertising campaigns.

As search engine marketing increased due to the popularity of Google, there was spike in demand for these services.  AT&T, eager to offer SEM as an option for more clients, promoted Wayne to the newly created position of SEO Director.  Thanks to his extensive knowledge of web design, usability, and search engine optimization, he developed and deployed a full-service search engine marketing solutions for thousands of customers from the ground up. 

Under his leadership, the AT&T Yellowpages.com Search product grew from a team of only two people, to a team of more than forty. Gross sales increased from $10,000 to more than $30 million dollars. Because of his achievements within the company, Wayne was soon invited to Google headquarters (Googleplex) to take part in advanced search engine marketing strategy courses in Mountain View, CA.

While at this training, Wayne had a moment of inspiration—why not build a full-service marketing business for customers that focused on providing personalized service with a team of handpicked employees who had the same high standards of dedication to excellence he shared?

After nearly a decade with AT&T, Wayne decided to launch is own business dedicated to other business owners and their customers. Wayne and his wife sold their Atlanta home and moved to the coastal area of Savannah, GA to open the doors of Electric Lemonade.

Going Solo
In the process of building Electric Lemonade, Wayne recalled the lessons of past experiences. He realized that the best way to ensure success is to focus on limited niche markets – and to be very good at that niche. Since Wayne comes from a family of attorneys (grandfather, uncle, and wife), he decided to initially target the fast-growing legal market.

For the past several years, Wayne has built an extensive portfolio of successful legal clients, with firms ranging from very small to very expansive. He has helped solo practitioners become multi-million dollar powerhouses and has made it possible for large firms to pare down ineffective or bloated advertising budgets. His proven results have led to an amazing client retention rate of 99%.

The Entrepreneurial Spirit
Because his innovative processes have worked so well, Wayne has selectively expanded his efforts into related areas of Internet marketing, as well as areas of personal interest. 

Domain Investor: Since 1998, Mr. Shifflett has bought and sold high-quality domains on a daily basis, building a portfolio that consists of thousands of top-level domains. 

Legal and Law-Related Development Over the past five years, Wayne and his team have been hard at work developing and deploying a variety of high-quality legal Internet properties that generate millions of unique visitors every month.  Unlike other legal websites, these websites make it easy for users to find information related to their legal concerns via website text, video, and social media outlets (presented in a layperson format).



Technology Patent and Launch of Referred.com: Wayne believes in building a better world through the Internet. One beautiful sunny morning, Wayne was cooking breakfast for his family when he suddenly had a thought — why not create a website that allows neighbors, friends, and family members to share businesses with which they have had good experienced via a website? Unlike other sites where you have to look through multiple reviews — both positive and negative — this new website would only show referred businesses from people you trust. This idea led to the creation of Referred.com. Submitting a technology patent and building a social networking site from the ground up is both time consuming and labor intensive, but Wayne successfully submitted a non-provisional patent and is now testing Referred.com in a private Beta environment.


Philanthropy: In the interest of contributing to their community, Wayne and his wife created a green initiative called GreenSavannah.org. This 100% solar-powered website/social network helps the entire City of Savannah learn new ways to live and work in a green manner. It also serves as an online forum where members of the community can collaborate and exchange inspired ideas. 

Wayne is also an active member of several local non-profits such as the Chatham County CASA (Court-Appointed Special Advocates for Children) and Coastal Pet Rescue. 

Despite his relative youth, Wayne Shifflett is a man who has enjoyed business success for many years. He believes in “real world” techniques and in employing strategies that work. He’s passionate about taking care of his customers and helping them achieve extraordinary success.
